<image:caption>Nestled at an elevation of 7,792 feet in the heart of Colorado's San Juan Mountains, Ouray (pronounced "Yur-ay") is affectionately known as the "Switzerland of America" for its dramatic alpine setting and towering mountain peaks. Named after the respected Ute Chief Ouray, the town was incorporated in 1876 during Colorado's mining boom and quickly became a hub for prospectors seeking fortunes in gold and silver. At its peak, more than 30 active mines operated in the surrounding mountains. Today, Ouray combines rich mining history with outdoor adventure and small-town charm. Visitors come to soak in natural hot springs, chase cascading waterfalls, explore historic buildings, sample local breweries, and experience some of Colorado's most thrilling mountain roads. Surrounded by rugged peaks and breathtaking scenery in every direction, Ouray is one of the state's most picturesque destinations. Visit in autumn, and you'll be treated to one of Colorado's most spectacular displays as thousands of aspens transform the mountainsides into brilliant shades of gold. The fall colors, combined with the town's stunning mountain backdrop, make Ouray a true bucket-list destination for photographers, road-trippers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The striking red color of the Red Mountains comes from iron-rich minerals in the rock. Over millions of years, exposure to oxygen caused the iron to oxidize—or rust—creating the vivid shades of red, orange, and maroon that blanket the mountainsides. These colorful peaks are among the most photographed landmarks along Colorado's Million Dollar Highway and are especially spectacular when contrasted against blue skies or golden fall aspens.</image:caption>

<image:caption>One of the most popular hikes along Scenic Byway 12 is the trek to Lower Calf Creek Falls, a spectacular 6-mile round-trip adventure that rewards hikers with a stunning 120-foot waterfall cascading over colorful, mineral-streaked sandstone cliffs into a refreshing pool below. The well-marked trail follows Calf Creek through a beautiful desert canyon, crossing rocky sections, sandy stretches, and numerous shaded areas beneath cottonwood trees. Keep an eye out for ancient petroglyphs etched into the canyon walls near trail marker eight. The clear waters of Calf Creek are also home to brown trout, which can often be spotted swimming in the stream. <image:caption>For the ultimate postcard view of Grand Prismatic Spring, take the Fairy Falls Trail to the Grand Prismatic Overlook. This popular viewpoint, opened in 2017, provides a breathtaking aerial perspective of Yellowstone's largest and most colorful hot spring. The round-trip 1.5-mile hike starts level for the first portion before reaching a signed junction, where you turn left and climb gently about 130 feet to the overlook platform. From the viewing platform, you'll enjoy a spectacular panorama of the brilliant blue center surrounded by vibrant rings of yellow, orange, and red created by heat-loving microorganisms. Pro Tip: Visit on a sunny day for the most vivid colors. Cooler temperatures, especially around 50°F, can cause steam from the hot spring to create a thick mist over the water. Sometimes the steam adds a dramatic effect for photographs, but it can also obscure the spring's famous colors.</image:caption>

<image:title>Travel Blogs - Yellowstone National Park: 3 Iconic Sights & 5 Hidden Gems - Make it stand out</image:title>
<image:caption>The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is one of the most breathtaking sights in the park. Carved by the powerful Yellowstone River, the canyon showcases dramatic walls of brilliant yellow, orange, and gold sandstone and mudstone, creating a landscape unlike anywhere else in Yellowstone. The star attraction is the magnificent Lower Falls, where the Yellowstone River plunges 308 feet into the canyon below. The South Rim Trail provides access to several parking areas and scenic overlooks, allowing visitors to experience the canyon from multiple perspectives. One of the most popular stops is Artist Point, an easy paved walk that leads to spectacular viewpoints overlooking both the Lower Falls and the canyon. Be sure to take time to explore several overlooks along both the South and North Rim drives. Viewing the canyon from above the waterfalls, beside the canyon walls, and from downstream looking back toward the falls offers a completely different perspective at each stop. Photography Tip: Visit early morning or late afternoon, when sunlight accentuates the canyon's brilliant yellow and orange hues, creating the dramatic scenes that inspired the name "Yellowstone."</image:caption>

<image:title>Travel Blogs - Yellowstone National Park: 3 Iconic Sights & 5 Hidden Gems - Make it stand out</image:title>
<image:caption>Visitors from around the world travel to Yellowstone National Park to witness the famous Old Faithful Geyser, one of the most recognizable natural wonders in America. While Yellowstone is home to more than 500 geysers, Old Faithful has earned its legendary status because of its remarkably predictable eruptions. Unlike most geysers, which erupt on highly irregular schedules, Old Faithful's eruption times can be forecast with surprising accuracy. Over the past several decades, its average interval between eruptions has changed by only about 30 minutes, making it one of the most reliable geysers in the world. Pro Tip: Arrive 15–20 minutes before the predicted eruption time to secure a great viewing spot, especially during the busy summer season. One of Yellowstone's most enjoyable and rewarding easy walks begins at Old Faithful and follows the Upper Geyser Basin boardwalks to the stunning Morning Glory Pool, a 3-mile round trip. Along the route, you'll pass erupting geysers, steaming vents, colorful hot springs, and bubbling pools. Pro Tip: Start early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the largest crowds. The lower-angle sunlight also makes the colors of the hot springs and pools even more vibrant for photography.</image:caption>

With the arrival of the new railroad to West Yellowstone, park visitation exploded from approximately 20,000 visitors in 1914 to more than 50,000 in 1915. <image:caption>The population of Iceland is around 390,000, and there are roughly 400,000 sheep! The sheep population is a significant part of Iceland's identity, with the Icelandic sheep breed being one of the oldest and purest in the world. The sheep roam freely throughout the country during the summer months, grazing on the lush highland grasses and berries. In the fall, a communal roundup event called Réttir involves farmers, family, friends, and even tourists, riding on horseback or ATVs, and culminates in festive music, dancing, food, and drink.</image:caption>

Discover remarkable petroglyphs and pictographs created by the Fremont people, who inhabited the region between A.D. 300 and 1300. These ancient rock art panels reflect the connection to the landscape and feature the distinctive “Vernal Classic Style,” known for humanlike figures with broad, trapezoidal shoulders that narrow to thin waists. <image:caption>Step back 150 million years at the Dinosaur Trackway in Red Fleet State Park, where remarkably preserved dinosaur footprints can still be seen along the reservoir's slickrock shoreline. Many of the tracks measure 10 to 12 inches across and feature the distinctive three-toed impressions left by dinosaurs that once walked across soft, muddy sediments. The Dinosaur Trackway Trail is a moderately challenging hike within Red Fleet State Park, featuring rocky and sandy terrain with several elevation changes. The route is well marked. For the best viewing experience, plan your visit in the early morning or late afternoon when angled sunlight enhances the visibility of the tracks. Because the footprints are near the shoreline, the number of visible tracks can vary with reservoir water levels. Downloading the AllTrails app before your visit can help with navigation and trail details.</image:caption>

<image:title>Travel Blogs - 8 Must-Dos in Zion National Park - Keep an eye on the steep cliffs and rocky slopes east of the Zion–Mount Carmel Tunnel, where desert bighorn sheep are frequently spotted.</image:title>
<image:caption>These agile animals effortlessly navigate the rugged terrain, often appearing to cling to near-vertical rock faces while grazing, resting, or watching for predators. Their remarkable climbing ability makes them one of Zion National Park's most iconic wildlife sightings.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hike the fun, easy 1-mile round trip Canyon Overlook Trail for a breathtaking full view of Zion Canyon (parking lot on the east side of the tunnel). The trail is unique, featuring metal bridges, and be mindful of your head on the overhangs.</image:caption>

<image:title>Travel Blogs - 8 Must-Dos in Zion National Park</image:title>
<image:caption>The best canyon views are part of this challenging 4-mile round-trip that begins at the Virgin River and then climbs to the cool and shady Refrigerator Canyon area. Next are the iconic Walter Wiggles 21 switchbacks. Take your time; the steep climb may test you, but it's worth it. At the top of the switchbacks is Scout Lookout, and you have climbed 1,050 feet, where the views of Zion Canyon are phenomenal! The trail continues on Angel’s Landing (permits may be required).</image:caption>

<image:title>Travel Blogs - 8 Must-Dos in Zion National Park</image:title>
<image:caption>Feeling adventurous? Find the Narrows! “The Narrows” is the Virgin River canyon, characterized by colorful walls that tower overhead a thousand feet. The gorge is only 20 to 30 feet wide. The only way to view the beauty is by wading up the river. Refrain from wearing flip-flops in the river; you may fall on the slippery rock. You will enjoy the hike more if you have the proper equipment. At a minimum, use neoprene socks (the water is cold), heavy boots, and a walking stick to navigate the rocky river bottom. Several companies, such as Zion Adventures Company, rent equipment like river-hiking boots or consider booking a tour group to supply everything.</image:caption>
