Covering 2.2 million acres with five entrances, it's larger than Delaware and Rhode Island combined. Pick one area or scenic loop for the day and leave room in your schedule for picnics, bison jams, wildlife watching, and those unexpected moments that make Yellowstone unforgettable.
Packing snacks and food is optional. The park has 7 gas stations with snacks, 12 general stores, and many restaurants, cafeterias, delis, and coffee shops. Almost every picnic area has a vault toilet, but all the visitor centers and general stores have flush toilets.

Don’t expect cell service or internet in the park or at buildings that are 125 years old. Take a map to navigate your drive or hike.
Most drivers are NOT paying full attention to the road, and many are international travelers. Don’t slam on your brakes in the middle of the road! Find a pull-off and walk back to see the wildlife.
